What I got from McCormick - only response from any senator
Dear Mrs. Allen,
Thank you for reaching out to share your thoughts on the importance of Medicaid and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Your feedback is essential as we work together to shape policies that benefit Pennsylvania and our country.
Medicaid was established in 1965 to provide vital healthcare services to low-income families, children, and individuals with disabilities. The program is jointly administered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and state governments.
I believe we have to protect the availability of Medicaid for those who need it while also working to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse, which harms beneficiaries and places an undue burden on taxpayers and state governments. While we find ways to make the program more efficient, I do not support cutting benefits.
SNAP was established in 1964 to assist low-income individuals and families in accessing food. The program operates in partnership with state governments to help recipients purchase essential groceries. I believe programs like SNAP must be managed effectively to ensure resources are directed toward those most in need.
I appreciate your input, and I will keep your views in mind as Congress considers legislation related to the future of Medicaid and SNAP. My first priority is to make sure Pennsylvania is treated fairly, taxpayers are protected, and the interests of our citizens come first.
It is an honor and a privilege to serve our great Commonwealth in the United States Senate. I am always grateful to hear from my constituents.
Sincerely,Dave McCormickU.S. Senator
