"Change-Makers for Democracy”
Event Brings Candidates and Community Together in Montgomery CountyMontgomery County, PA
Indivisible Montgomery County PA & Friends, Indivisible Greater Jenkintown, and Indivisible Lower Merion will host “Change-Makers for Democracy,” a dynamic meet-and-greet event connecting voters, organizers, and endorsed candidates committed to defending democracy and building a more just future.
The event invites community members to engage directly with candidates and grassroots leaders in an interactive, welcoming setting focused on conversation—not speeches. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, share concerns, and learn more about the leaders working to advance democratic values at the local and state level.
“Meet the candidates. Meet the organizers. Build the future.” This guiding message reflects the event’s emphasis on collaboration, civic engagement, and collective action.
Confirmed Candidates Include:
Lucia Simonelli, Candidate for PA-01
Art Haywood, Senate District 4
Margaret Burke, Candidate for PA 147
Jason Landau Goodman, Candidate for PA 148
Tim Briggs, PA 149
Nancy Guenst, PA 152
Ben Sanchez, PA 153
A light dinner will be provided, and a cash bar will offer beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages, creating a relaxed atmosphere for meaningful dialogue and connection. At a time of growing concern about threats to democratic institutions, the gathering is designed to energize local activism and strengthen connections between voters and candidates who are committed to protecting democratic norms and advancing policies that reflect community needs.

Montco's Participating Groups
The Indivisible Groups of Indivisible Montco PA & Friends, Indivisible Greater Jenkintown, and Indivisible Lower Merion coalesced to research and make endorsements across our county, representing our membership.

Our Endorsement Process
Our committee was open to all members. Our endorsement process followed the Indivisible National guidelines and included several phases: research, outreach, communication, initial scoring, initial recommendations, and finally a live vote whereby 60% was necessary for endorsement.
We are proud to share this work and the outcomes of our research. We are happy to bring the democratic process to our members, and inspire engagement in our elections and our voting systems.

About the 2026 Indivisible Primary Endorsement Project
"Since the 2016 election, Indivisible has been dedicated to defeating Donald Trump and his authoritarian political project. Donald Trump rules as a wannabe king, dismantling our democracy with a league of sycophantic enablers at his side. Empowered by techno-fascists, corrupt self-dealing billionaires, and corporate cowards, this regime is killing the American experiment with death by a thousand cuts. We need a real opposition party if we're to have any hope of not just fighting back, but of winning. The simple truth is, we don’t have time to deal with weak leadership. We need a unified pro-democracy movement, and we need the Democratic Party to be the leading edge of it. We know elections—especially primaries—can be intimidating. We also know that an endorsement, done correctly, is one of our most powerful tools for change. It is our hope that groups across the country will take a look at their local primaries in 2026 and find candidates they can get behind and support all the way through the primary and general election. By endorsing candidates, Indivisibles are stepping into their own political power and working to elect the party we deserve."
