Hello and welcome back, Indivisibles!
In a week marked by both resistance and resilience, citizens around the country rose to meet the moment during last week’s May Day protests. Together we stood strong to support workers’ rights and ensure that our message of solidarity is heard. There is much to be said– and done! Read on for steps to take and how to get involved.
📌Overall Update📌
We are on Instagram and Threads! (Meta…grumble, grumble…) Please follow us and share our posts in your network so we can diversify our reach. If you haven’t already, check out our member, Dan’s fantastic reel of our Dave McCormick absentee town hall on 4/23!
Join Katie Muth on Thursday, 5/8/2025 for the virtual “Worker Safety: Unseen Hazards and Unintended Consequences.” This will take place on Thursday, May 8 at 5:30 p.m. on Zoom. Anyone interested in participating can click here to register in advance. Participants in the virtual event will include Sen. Muth; environmental journalist and author Justin Nobel; Chris DiGiulio, Environmental Chemist, PSR PA; and frontline workers who will discuss their experiences working in the industry and the lack of worker safety protections. This event will take an eye-opening look at the safety issues involved in handling wastewater from the oil and gas industry. Recent evidence has shown that hydraulic fracturing, more commonly known as “fracking,” produces a myriad of byproducts in addition to the sought-after gas.
Help us save our PA Supreme Court in 2025! Let’s keep Trump’s chaos out of PA! Supreme Court justices in PA are elected with partisan elections and then are up for retention every 10 years. This November three PA Supreme Court justices are up for a retention election. There is currently a liberal majority on the PA Supreme Court. The three justices up for retention this year were elected as Democrats and not voting YES to retain them means we could lose our liberal majority on the PA Supreme Court. Take action now! Indivisible Greater Jenkintown is partnering with Field Team 6 to tap into their database of unregistered voters and textbank to get them mobilized.
Do you dream of a more united and inclusive political party? Are you curious about what our voters are truly striving for? Introducing The Finding Common Ground Movement! This project, taken on by two of our members, is calling on you to take a survey to better understand voters’ satisfaction levels on a number of topics. Check it out and share with friends!
Our IMCPANF Civil Rights focus group is organizing a yard sign sale benefiting the Welcome PA Project, who serves marginalized individuals, families, and communities. Order one today! Signs are $10 each, and you may choose from the listed options. Pickup arrangements can be made during your order.
Donations for our May meeting will benefit CCATE (Centro de Cultura Arte Trabajo y Educacion) in Norristown. Please bring school, cleaning, kitchen, and emergency supplies to our in-person meeting on May 18th.
At our May meeting, we will welcome Judy Lofton, resident of Perkiomen Valley who is running for school board. She will speak to us about what to look for in school board elections and cross-filing, and she will answer our questions. Judy Lofton served on the Perkiomen Valley School Board from 2017 to 2021, served as the campaign chair in 2023, and is currently a candidate in the PV district.

Calls to Action To-Do List:
Local Impact:
Keep Montgomery County safe for immigrants. You may have heard that locales and counties are following suit in ICE’s gestapo. Not here. Take action by copying and pasting this letter, and send it to our county commissioners listed in the heading information. You may also text SANCTUARY to 82623, and the ACLU will text you a phone number and script to urge Congress to vote NO on the No Bailout for Sanctuary Cities Act.
Let’s put the pressure on State House Majority Leader Bradford to purge greed from our politics. He is the primary obstruction for most of our pro-democracy bills (and he is also the primary obstruction for an upcoming pro-immigration bill). Our calls to action for him can be found at www.Giftban.org with further information.
Our Immigration focus group is looking for Immigration Impact Statements. They are being collected (with private information redacted) to share with our representatives so they can understand the impact of these inhumane policies on our communities. Write in with: what happened, first name, and zip code. Share with andiLaudisio@gmail.com
Indivisible National:
Join a virtual phone bank on May 15 to call North Carolina voters about opposing the GOP reconciliation plan! Senator Thom Tillis will be one of the nation's most vulnerable Republicans in the 2026 midterms, so we’re urging NC voters to turn the temperature up on Tillis as we fight Trump’s Tax Scam. The virtual phone bank is open to volunteers nationwide via Scale To Win and includes training for those who need it.
Email your Members of Congress about bringing Kilmar Abrego Garcia home. If Trump is allowed to openly defy a court order, no rights are safe. We’re demanding that leaders in both parties use every tool at their disposal to ensure Abrego Garcia is freed and returned to America.
If you have a GOP representative, send an email to get them on the record about plans to defund SNAP and Medicaid. Republicans don’t want us talking about Trump’s reconciliation plan because they know it screws working people to pay for billionaires’ tax breaks. We need to get them on the record and hold them accountable. You can also click here to CALL their office during business hours.
Join this Thursday’s “What’s the Plan” call (3pm ET / 12pm PT) to hear about a MASSIVE new day of action coming in June. Each Thursday, our co-founders Leah and Ezra jump online to break down the news, draw inspiration from Indivisibles’ work, and lay out what’s next for the movement. This week, they’ll have big news about our next big mobilization.
Thanks for your great efforts. Keep up the great work, and be safe!
Cait, Dean, Karen, and Kelly
